What would it be like to own and run your own group therapy practice--including the building? And to complicate matters, what if the whole endeavor is getting off the ground during a global pandemic? It might sound crazy, but you’ll hear the details from today’s guest who is making it all happen after facing down all the obstacles. Join us!

Our Featured Guest

Karen Grayson, PhD, LPC

Dr. Karen Grayson had a vision a few years ago of owning a therapy practice building, so she followed through with the big purchase in 2018. She’s here to help us navigate through the challenges of owning a therapy practice building during a pandemic. The Center for Inner Transformation, in St. Louis, is a place where Karen combines philosophy, therapy, and spirituality on an integrated pathway to her clients’ personal and collective development, and it’s also home for the practices of three other clinicians. She shares where the idea of buying a building came from, how she went into the process, along with practical steps that she took during the pandemic. We wrap up today’s conversation with four pieces of advice that Karen would give to her younger self about this undertaking.

Thrizer can help private pay therapists transform out-of-network therapy into an in-network experience to help you attract and retain private pay clients! First, Thrizer can help you instantly verify your client's out-of-network benefits ahead of their first session using Thrizer's free Instant Benefits Calculator. Then, just by charging clients via Thrizer's payment platform, you can automatically submit claims for them and even let your clients just pay their co-insurance for sessions (similar to in-network copays) to help them afford therapy upfront and skip the reimbursement wait post-deductible. Thrizer covers the rest of your fees upfront and waits for reimbursement on their behalf! They also have a Superbill Uploads feature if you'd like to instead offer your clients a resource to manage their own superbills. They manage all claims end-to-end so you or your clients don't need to deal with any of the insurance stress.
