Cassette is a podcast established on the occasion of Cassidy Curtis’ 37th birthday. I had intended to present him with a mix CD, but didn’t give myself enough time to assemble it. It occurred to me that I could recover from this mistake by delivering the mix a song at a time. When I proposed this to Cas, he asked if he could subscribe using iTunes, and thus the first person-to-person podcast was born.

For our final episode of 2017, we're joined by our favorite maigcal boys, Sam McClellan and Adam Ferry to discuss the (sadly, somewhat lackluster) final chapter of the supremely charming magical boy anime series "Cute High Earth Defense Club Love" AKA the recent OVA with a couple extra "loves" on the end.…

Happy Halloween one and all! At last the saga of the Dracula myus has finally come to a close with this episode's coverage of the myu Last Dracul Saishuu Shou. We're not quite sure what happened in this one. Mandrake siblings, tiny werewolf babies, and a triangle box that is a prison sometimes but not all the time raise a lot of questions. But we d…

It's been a while but the L&J crew is back to close out the Nehelenia arc of Stars! That's episodes 171 and 172. While we enjoyed this arc overall we're a little fuzzy on Nehelenia's origin as well as the ending. Was it a dream? Is it a parallel universe? Who knows! But all that aside, it is undeniable how badass the senshi are, especially Hotaru. …

We're talking episodes 169 and 170 of the 90s anime, AKA episodes 3 & 4 of Sailor Stars, AKA two of the BEST episodes of the 90s anime. Especially episode 169, which is a beauitfully contructed horror story of the psychological thriller variety. Though Mercury and Uranus's unlikely partnership in epiosde 170 provides some really nice character deve…

This week we've decided to just keep going with Rainbow Crystal arc, even if it confuses/infuriates us. We do our best to analyze and make sense of this particular 90s plot device but end up with more questions. By popular request – and just before our 100th episodes – we proudly present our episode on one of our collective favorite anime series, Revolutionary Girl Utena. It's all fangirls all the time on this special Gundam Wing Edition of Love and Justice! Keepin' it classic this week witih a good old fashioned manga side story that, aside from a really sexy Rei/Minako Naoko Takeuchi splash page/cover illustration, isn't worth writing home about. It had the potential to be a sexier of version The Ring, but instead of focussing on what could have been a scary, seductive ghost (who was trapped in a wel…

Our mini Myu marathon concludes with "Sailor Moon SuperS - Yume Senshi - Ai - Eien Ni..." which was delightfully entertaining after the previous two installments! We're not sure if it's just because the couple were so terrible or "Amour Eternal" was out least favorite of the post 20th Anniversary Myus, but we legitmately enjoyed this show. More tha…

Musical Moonday strikes again with Sera Myu Sailor Moon S - Ai no Senshi e no Michi! While agruably not the worst of the Myus we've reviewed thus far, it's certainly the least compelling due to fact that the villains had unclear motivations and basically didn't do anything. Except fly. Oh boy did Kaorinite every fly. And Chibiusa. And Sailor Moon. …

It's anohter Musical Moonday coming your way! This time all about the first Sera Myu that (sort of) covered the Black Moon Clan/Sailor Moon R story arc, Tanjou! Ankoku no Princess Black Lady.
