Fasting is a means God gives us to find greater intimacy with Him, more life from Him, freedom from bondage, and restoration here on Earth.

Matthew breaks tradition by listing five women in Jesus' geneaology. These were Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary. All five of these women made choices which marked them as having questionable sexual morals. Since I had recently preached through the Book of Ruth, we looked at Tamar, Rahab, and Bathsheba for our Advent series.
