This podcast is meant to be an introduction to Alexander Calder as a sculptor for 4th grade on up. First, it describes one of his mobiles as though someone would see it for the first time, not knowing what one is. Then, it gives background information about the artist in first person narrative. It ends with a challenge for the listener to create a mobile of their own, encouraging the listener to recruit others to do the same and have a “mobile circus” performance with music. It is meant as a part one of two, with a second podcast that would give direction on supplies and procedure.
