The 2012 R. T Orr Lecture featured Dr. Ingrid Mattson who joins Huron as the inaugural London and Windsor Community Chair in Islamic Studies in July 2012. Her lecture on "Good Intentions: An Islamic Response to Pathological Altruism" explores the ways in which the Islamic tradition conceptualizes the impulse to do good and aims to prevent altruistic gestures from causing harm through the discipline of ethics.
