One Trade Podcast is designed to help investors by showcasing one potentially asymmetric trade at the beginning of each week. It is for educational purposes to teach investors what to look for when picking a stock to buy. Show host, Michelle Nipko and Fund Manager, Trent Norris bring energy and excitement to these ever-changing markets. Bob Dylan wrote the song “Times They Are a-Changin” and this saying certainly applies to today’s financial markets. Post March 2020, we witnessed an incredible rush into the stock market in a fashion not seen since the Dot-com mania era. Due to the onslaught of monetary and fiscal stimulus, retail investors rushed into the markets causing an incredible feeding frenzy in stocks, real estate and crypto pushing valuations to stratospheric levels. The major difference this time is that price inflation took ahold of main street. The Federal Reserve and Congress were forced to acknowledge the highest inflation in 40 years. Their current plan is to ‘tighten” policy and reduce the liquidity that fueled the incredible run in financial assets. This simply means that the massive tailwinds that the markets enjoyed are now headwinds. The strategy of the One Trade Podcast is to be a contrarian investor and find niche areas of the markets that provide compelling value today and the years ahead. Sectors we are currently interested in are green energy/EV metals, gold/silver, oil/natural gas, uranium, commodities and cannabis MSOs. We believe there is going to be a wealth transfer from overvalued stocks to undervalued stocks. Money will be made in finding companies that present real value.
