Miguel Aristizabal is an in open innovation expert with a passion for crowd collaboration and co-creation ecosystems that trigger human behavioral shifts to help solve urban challenges, reshape local governments, and transform organizations. Over the past decade, Miguel has held various specialist roles where he has led the transition of traditional public and private sector institutions towards dynamic collaboration environments through collective intelligence sharing. Some of Miguel’s most distinguished achievements include: designing and implementing MiMedellin.org, Colombia’s first interconnected network to harness the power of shared community knowledge through technology in order to improve the quality of life of Medellin’s inhabitants; Adviser at Medellin’s innovation centre ‘Ruta N’ which promotes the local community’s innovation initiatives; and leading the first chapter of “Cities for Life”, Latin America’s most important global symposium, attended by 1800 delegates from over 120 cities including 70 elected city mayors. A vivid entrepreneur, Miguel is also the founder and Director of We.City, a co-creation and collaboration consultancy that enable cities, governments and companies to tap into citizen distributed knowledge through participatory strategies for sustainable development and civic culture enhancements.
