Hey, I’m Alaine. A mom, wife, and a parent of 2 deaf kids. When I learned that my new baby was born with hearing loss, I was in shock and devastated at the diagnosis. I spent the next 6 months overwhelmed with all of the new information about how to parent a deaf child. I sought the advice of way too many people and constantly felt like each person was telling me to make a different decision for my child. I tried to implement too many things at one time and quickly got overwhelmed. And the worst part is that I felt like I was failing my deaf child by not parenting him well enough.
