Have you or your loved one been affected by a preventable medical error? Have you experienced harm or been dismissed by the healthcare system? Do you want your voice to be heard and matter in all healthcare settings? Do you wonder when your voice will matter and bring about change? Then please join me, Krista Hughes, your host and board-certified patient advocate. If you are a patient or caregiver, this podcast is for you. It is where your voice truly matters. Bi-weekly on Tuesday, you will hear tips and tricks and guests sharing real-life experiences to empower you to stay safe and prevent harm in ALL healthcare settings. Welcome! This is a safe place for you because your voice does matter! As the Founder and CEO of Hughes Advocacy, I advocate for better health care for my clients in Alabama and elsewhere. I have over 25 years of experience working in the medical industry, where I equip, empower, educate, and teach patients how to get the best care they need and deserve. I have emerged as a national advocate for patients. I was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra to serve a three-year term on the National Advisory Council (NAC) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). A resident of Birmingham, I am the first Alabamian known to have ever served on the prestigious council that addresses the quality of care in the United States. On behalf of the White House Office of American Innovation, I was invited to attend the Blue Button 2.0 Developers Conference at the White House to discuss improving patient care. In addition, I am a Patients for Patient Safety U.S. Champion, a member of the National Patient Safety Board, and an active member of the Greater National Advocates Organization and Solace Health. I am also an APHA Emeritus member of The Alliance of Professional Health Advocates (APHA), I have a passion for patients, so let's be the change together. - Website - www.hughesadvocacy.com - YouTube - If you prefer to watch the show, please go to my YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@hughesadvocacy
