Oral Health Matters is a podcast from the Dental Public Heath Group at University College London podcast that shines a spotlight on oral health and calls for it to be embraced as a key part of the global public health agenda.

Presented by Richard Watt, Professor of Dental Public Health at University College London, the podcast discusses the latest research and evidence on oral health, the scale and consequences of oral diseases and evidence-based interventions to tackle these problems. The podcast, which is produced by the Dental Public Health Group at UCL, with support from Research Podcasts and funding from the UK National Institute for Health and Social Care Research (NIHR), is of interest to policymakers, clinicians, researchers, community health networks and students.

In Series 1 Richard is in conversation with members of the NIHR CORE research programme, a team of researchers and activists from around the world who are working to tackle the problem of oral diseases in Kenya, Colombia, India and Brazil where oral diseases are known to cause severe pain, infection, reduced quality of life and even death.
