This week we take some time to talk about the deep dark underworld of crypto. Crypto is not always a happy place where everybody loves decentralization and spends all day getting rich. There is also a dark side of crypto that involves the dark web, scams, viruses, phishing campaigns and more. Protect me! The more you know about some of these dangers, the more aware you can be to protect yourself from them. Some of the most famous viruses and ransomware attempts in history have involved Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies so it’s always a good idea to stay educated and informed. Viruses As most of us are aware, because of the decentralized and possibly anonymous nature of cryptocurrencies, they are a great way to steal money without be tracked. Hackers around the world use crypto to fund their shady practices so they can rob people without fear of being caught and hauled off to prison. We discuss some of the most famous viruses, how crypto is involved, and our thoughts about this side of the industry. Only Terrorists use Bitcoin! We’ve all heard this argument. People that are against crypto, Bitcoin, and tech behind them, love saying that all people that use cryptocurrencies are doing so for illegal purposes. Not only is that GROSSLY incorrect, it also shines a terrible light on the industry and scares many people away from using digital currency. Privacy If you have spent any time learning about decentralized currencies and applications, you know that cryptocurrencies can provide amazing privacy and security of transactions. But, like most things, there is a good and bad side to that. Sure, it helps give power of data back to the people and out of the hands of large corporations, but it also provides criminals with a safe haven to do really shady things without be known. How do we deal with this, crypto nation? Hack to the future As the industry grows and matures into a legitimate financial market with tons of new projects, applications, and currencies, time will tell how we will respond to hackers and scammers in the space. Once place you can find safety from those nasty crypto scammers is right here at Decentralized Talk. We give unbiased, honest opinions about the space and will continue to be excited about the growth of the space. Make sure to subscribe so you never miss a minute of our crypto goodness every week. We love discussing crypto, interviewing amazing people in the space, and learning all along the way. Maybe we’ll talk about trading. Maybe we’ll give coin reviews. Maybe we’ll interview your favorite coins team. Maybe we’ll do none of those and bullshit for an hour. One thing is for sure: we’ll be here every week to help grow with the cryptoverse! Thank you so much to all of our listeners every week. We appreciate every one of you that tunes in to listen to our crazy opinions and incoherent ramblings about crypto.
