Grammy-award winner Linus Wyrsch is one of New York City's most sought-after clarinetists and saxophonists. Full of passion for jazz, Brazilian and Latin music, the Swiss native maintains a busy performance and recording schedule. Audiences in the US, Europe, Asia, and South America have been exhilarated by his heartwarming sounds in many prestigious venues. Linus brings a distinctive yet versatile quality to a variety of projects. He has shared the stage with, among others, Cesar Camargo Mariano and Oscar Castro-Neves (two originators of the Bossa Nova genre), noted film composers Alan Silvestri and Howard Shore, and several of the world's top jazz and Latin musicians, such as Andy McGhee, David Hazeltine, Hendrik Meurkens, Rubens de La Corte, Harvie S, Clarence Penn, Rafael Barata, and Gregorio Uribe Big Band. Born and raised near Lucerne, Switzerland, Linus went on to graduate summa cum laude from Boston's Berklee College of Music before moving to the Big Apple in 2008. He promptly stepped into the spotlight by turning BTR's The Jazz Hole into a popular program among jazz fans and musicians, highlighting the New York scene and interviewing high-caliber guests.
