Tune in this week for a very special episode of Let’s Talk Black Culture with guest host Boe Spearim!

This week, Boe shares the first part of an extraordinary conversation he recorded with Kombumerri & Wakka Wakka philosopher and educator Aunty Dr. Mary Graham at the Palestine Network Workshops on 2 June 2024 at UQ.

Aunty Mary is widely recognised as Australia’s leading Aboriginal philosopher and her tireless work as a community development leader, Elder, educator and philosopher has been acknowledged across so-called australia. In this episode, you’ll hear Boe and Aunty Mary talk through the history of colonial occupation on this continent, and the resonance between the struggle for justice and self-determination here and in Palestine. They reflect on some of Dr. Graham’s formative political and philosophical insights into the operation of power in the colony, and the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander terms of reference in building approaches to justice and liberation that can contend with colonisation head-on.

A huge and crucial conversation to get stuck into – and if you’re left wanting more, never fear! You can listen back next week for part 2 !
