Two NYPD Cops were shot in Queens by an Illegal Immigrant from Venezuela early this morning Public safety officers in plain clothes say they attempted to stop a suspect on a scooter at 89th St. and 23rd Ave., in Elmhurst queens around 1:40am this morning. The Cops say they tried to pull the scooter over, when the suspect began to run, leaving the scooter behind. Police state they chased him, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired at the officers, hitting one in the back and the other in the stomach. The two injured cops are both in stable condition & being treated at Elmhurst General Hospital The 19-year-old suspect was shot in the leg and is expected to survive. The two NYPD officers both of whom are 26 years of age are in stable condition. Officer Christopher Abrue was shot in the leg.
