Netscientific surpasses £100m AUM amid growth

NetScientific PLC CEO Dr Ilian Iliev joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with details of the company’s achievements in 2023 and its future goals. Iliev highlighted NetScientific's strong portfolio and significant revenue growth despite challenging market conditions. The company successfully raised around £60 million for its portfolio companies, pushing its assets under management (AUM) to the £100 million mark. This milestone represents a significant leap from three years ago when the AUM was just £8 million. Iliev explained the company’s strategy of building a resilient venture capital (VC) platform focused on deep tech and life sciences. The addition of a fund management function aims to scale the capital available to their companies. A recent partnership with Cambridge-based Martlet Capital has added 50 companies to NetScientific's portfolio. He emphasised the goal of making the company financially autonomous after reducing losses from £3.7 million to £2.9 million year-over-year. Looking ahead, Iliev outlined a pragmatic goal of doubling their AUM to £200 million through strategic investments and efficient management.
