As we continue our study in First Kings, we learn of Solomon's high standards in the building of his temple for God. We observe the solemnities in the building of the temple that were built in stony silence and see the similar reverent silence in Jesus's conviction on the cross. We use Solomon as a tool to see the glory of Jesus Christ and to point us towards God's will at work. We learn that God moves in his own merciful silence throughout the world, constantly and unresting. We take heed of our own good works if it's not for God's glory first; for we are not judged by our works, but by our faith. Keep this verse in mind: Luke 17:20-21 NIV Once,on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst."
