You have probably heard the term, export or die. This probably gives an indication of how much of a life line it can be for businesses who dare to venture past the seemingly difficulties of international trade.
This week, The Entrepreneurial You podcast invites Robert Scott to talk about the business of exporting.

...in terms of internally, they all speak to the concept of export readiness. Am I ready for export? Now many people who are new whether you're an individual or a big company with a product, you will always have some challenges. So the export readiness is not to say that you're not ready, go sit down one find something else to do. It's to know exactly what you need to do to lift the bar. So one of the first questions the export readiness asks you is, do you have capacity? because I have spoken to persons who (say) oh I make this thing in my home, I can do maybe about 10 cases a month. Okay, fine. Nothing is wrong with that. Let's find a market that will take 10 cases a month. Don't waste your time going to China.
