We spend our lives looking downward at our phone screens, texting and messaging, feeling depressed at the news or weather.
But, if we take the time to look up, we will usually see wonderful structures that encourage us to lift our gaze to higher, beautiful and joyful things that celebrate the genius of the human spirit, our imagination, feats of craftmanship and engineering, hard labour and industrial technology.
Join me - and my fear of heights - as I scale to the top of the world’s tallest, crooked and beautiful spires, steeples and towers to reveal their fascinating backstories.
