The coronavirus pandemic is raging across the United States with more than 151,000 dead and around 4.5 million infected. Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House COVID-19 response coordinator, is warning Americans that the country is entering a “new phase” of the crisis.

Data from Johns Hopkins University shows the virus has spread to rural and suburban areas. While we’re seeing a dip in the weekly average of new cases, the U.S. is seeing a spike in fatalities with the seven-day average exceeding 1000 deaths a day. But there may be some hope on the horizon with American, European, Russian and Chinese researchers reporting encouraging results in their search for a vaccine.

Anand Naidoo spoke with well-known physician and virologist Dr. David Ho about how antibodies from COVID-19 patients could be a game changer in treating the virus.
