Today is week 4 of our 7 Week Serius on the qualities I think it takes to be a powerful virtual teacher! This week is all about being a Teachable Teacher. Currently, virtual education is growing due to the COVID19 school shutdown. In my experience, the teachers who transition the best to virtual education are the teachable ones. Not the ones that say, "I'm too old for this" or "It can't be done." If you want to thrive in a virtual classroom, you must be willing to learn how to use one. Although there isn't much research on virtual education in the K-12 public school setting, K12.com teachers do have a large database of professional development. If you are not associated with a K12.com school, it's my hope that your school does have a similar database. The wheel isn't being invented right now, it is in a constant state of being tested. We as virtual teachers need to be doing as much as we can to learn how to steer it.
