When Diane Michael was ten years old, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. When she was 19, her mother passed away. And for many years, Diane avoided coming to terms with her mother’s death. In her book After Mom: An Insightful Journey to Healing After Her Death, she writes “I had wasted too much time avoiding and refusing to face the truth of what her death meant and still means to my daily life. I had pushed too many people away.
