Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements. This is a regular week with Monday being a Late-Start Day, Per. 1 begins at 10 am.
Hola comunidad VAPA! Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios.
Esta es una semana normal y el lunes es un día de inicio tardío. El período uno comienza a las diez de la mañana.

We are starting our in-person tutoring program this week for selected groups of students and on a space-available basis. Interested students and/ or parents on behalf of their VAPA students, can reserve a spot or sign-up for the waiting list by calling the office at 323-357-7531. All CDC and County guidelines are being followed for the program including face-mask wearing, physical distancing, and receipt of a negative COVID19 test for participating students and staff.

Our Honor Roll Assembly will be an online event on November 2 at 1 pm. Recognized students will have the opportunity to pick-up their medals at school as scheduled the week after the event.

Please join me for our monthly Coffee with the Principal online this Friday at 10 am. Please go to www.bit.ly/vapacoffee1 to login. Password is vapacoffee.

We are continuing in our Zone of Choice Enrollment Drive and our VAPA Zone of Choice Open House is on Wednesday at 5 pm. Please get the word out about our wonderful school. Our goal for 2021-22 is 500 students.

Students who are interested in playing a sport, should get a physical and complete online sports packets at www.athleticclearance.com. Please go to www.legacytigers.com for more info and contact e-mails for our coaches if you have sport-specific questions. Please turn in physicals to the VAPA office AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. On-campus conditioning will begin in person soon as well as try-outs for teams.

Our after-school programs sponsored by Educare and Beyond-the-Bell include daily tutoring, physical conditioning, short flags, showchoir, student Leadership, Drivers Ed, and more. Sign up by completing the Educare Form online. You will then receive an e-mail with a form to sign up for classes. It’s that easy! Forms are at www.bit.ly/educareform and at www.bit.ly/educareforms

We have a new group to support our parents and families “Resilient Families” will run for 10 weeks and starting on October 29 at 10:30 am-12 pm, 5 weeks in the Fall and 5 weeks starting in January. Please see our website and social media for a flier with login info.

Please call the Support Helpline at (213) 443-1300 or call us a VAPA at 323-357-7531 for assistance if students have issues getting into classes.
