I'm very excited about this episode, for a few reasons. To celebrate my 60th birthday I put on a benefit for the non-profit organisation The Music Settlement, which offers early childhood education and music therapy, as well as a number of other programmes for people of all ages designed around music and the arts. So I'm starting the episode with the performers who donated their time for this worthy cause, VICTOR SAMALOT, DEREK DePRATOR AND EVAN KLEVE, JOE ROLLIN PORTER, ALAN GRANDY, CARLOS JONES and ALEX BEVAN, who stepped in when CHARLIE WIENER had to drop out. Then, I owe a true debt of gratitude to Frank Mauceri from Smog Veil records for some incredible early Cleveland underground and blues that has never aired in public before. And the usual assortment of older and newer artists of different musical styles. Pay attention to Rachel Shortt - she's a new find and really amazing.
VICTOR SAMALOT - West Dawn
DEREK DePRATOR AND EVAN KLEVE - T.I.M. (Thinning Industrial Metropolis) (aka Sweet Dave) (from 'You'll Never Work in This Town Again')
JOE ROLLIN PORTER - Did You Ever See The Devil Uncle Joe? (from 'Troubles Just Like Mine')
ALAN GRANDY - Indecision (from 'El Grande: The Music of Alan Grandy')
CARLOS JONES - Music To The Rescue (Live)
ALEX BEVAN - Brand New Have Another Laugh On Cleveland Blues Redo
CHARLIE WIENER - E Jababadad (from 'Love, Hope, Strength')
HY MAYA - Dance Of Illusion (Camel Song) (from 'Mysticism of Sound')
THE SCHWARTZ-FOX BLUES CRUSADE - Long Distance Call (from 'Sunday Morning Revival')
THE ROBERT BENSICK BAND - French Pictures In London (from 'French Pictures in London')
VANITY CRASH - Emily Dickensen (from 'Phantasmagoria')
DEADBEAT POETS - I'll Be Standing By (Single)
CRAIG ROBERTSON - Blue Amazon (from 'Pan American')
RAPID EYE MOVEMENT - Fact Is Stranger Than Fiction (Demo)
KRYPTON MONKEYS - Breaking All The Rules (from 'Crush')
