The Art of Conversation is a series of short 5-10 minutes episodes where I answer conversation topics from the Conversation Starters World website: I use this very often in my 1:1 English conversation classes with my students. This is to help give you some ideas about how a native speaker might answer questions. Each week I'll try to include in my natural speech different examples of grammar points, expressions and idioms. Today's question was inspired by thinking about how long it took me to fly to Australia! It's long guys! More than 24 hours! In this episode I'm going to answer the question: What is the worst place you've been stuck for a long time? jetlagged - when you have a temporary disruption of the body's normal biological rhythms after high-speed air travel through several time zones.stopover/layover - when you stop at an airport between two planes all up - all together I'm used to it - means you are still used or accustomed to doing it booked a trip/booked flights - bought tickets for travelling travel agent - a person who can book your flights figured something out - solve or discover the cause of a problemlittle did I know - used to say that there was something I didn't realise stress out - feeling stressed
