The MF DOOM Special (feat. Suriel Vazquez)
Manage episode 282398212 series 2634585
Few artists had an impact on the landscape around them as MF DOOM had on rap. With the reveal of his passing in 2020, we felt it was the right time to finally feature the masked madman, and who better to help us commemorate him than MinnMax’s own Suriel Vazquez (https://twitter.com/surielvazquez)?
Together, we suss out what made DOOM unique, even among his peers, and why “Operation Doomsday” and “Madvillainy” are the best vertical slices of his prowess. With questions from our community, we talk about what posthumous releases have held up, our musical “religious experiences,” KaZaA, and revisit the ever-present question: “Why is vinyl so big now?”
