The phrase "Monday Morning Quarterback" is typically thought of as a negative term and it's usually for good reason. Watching our favorite team or athlete from the comfort of our sofas, having never played the game at that level, it's very easy to critique how a play was executed or how a split second decision was made that we didn't like.

Of course no one wants to be critiqued by people who lack the experience, pressure or perspective that one can only have by being "in the game."

Of course no one really wants to be "Monday morning quaterbacked" or to be involved in an incident that needs to be MMQ'ed. However, as church protectors, we absolutely must embrace Monday morning quarterbacking because it's the kind of thing that will save our lives.

But friends, here's the most important part - the quarterbacking must come from the right sources and in the right way, for it to be effective. In other words, it needs to come from people who have invested in and understand "our game."
