In this episode we read a series of non-Uncanny issues that lead up to the in medias res start to Uncanny X-Men (1963) #111.
- First, we see what Magneto has been up to after his encounter with the team in UXM 104 in his Jack Kirby penned appearance in Captain America (1968) Annual 4.
- Then, we check out how Mesmero managed to mesmerize the full team of X-Men – and, especially, Jean Grey – in Classic X-Men (1986) #17.
- And, finally, we learn how Beast gets roped into this adventure (and what Havok and Polaris have been up to) in Marvel Team-Up (1972) #69.
After all that, we’re ready for UXM 111, and I’ll be honest – we spend a lot of the time talking about how hot we think Magneto looks.
