#130 Jacqui Marson - Know who you are and speak your truth!

Jacqui talks to us about the importance of knowing who you are and speaking your truth.

We talk about:

  • Being very good at persuading people to do things.
  • How being a martyr doesn’t serve anyone.
  • And how Newcastle is the best city in the world.

Jacqui Marson was one of the first female independent war reporters in the UK. She set up Wildcat Films in the North East with cameraman David Baillie when she was 26, and they went on to win numerous awards for exclusive reports from remote and hostile locations.

She covered previously unreported wars in Pakistan’s Siachen Glacier, in South Sudan with the rebel army and Nicaragua with the Sandinistas. After becoming a mother she sold the company and retrained as a Chartered Psychologist, working with women in Holloway prison and then in private practice. Jacqui wrote the worldwide bestseller The Curse of Lovely: How to break free from the demands of others and learn to say No, and appears regularly on TV and radio.
