After the conquest and incorporation of Gaul into the Roman Empire at the hands of Julius Caesar, a natural border- the Rhine river, had separated two distinct lands. To the west, all of Gaul and Rome's holdings. To the east- unconquered and unfamiliar lands, rife with barbarians and their uncivilized practices. The Romans, eager to expand fall into one of the worst traps they will ever encounter.
