Welcome to Mindshift, a podcast by the Homecoming project that exists to equip and empower you to advocate on behalf of vulnerable children around the world.

In this interview, host Krish Kandiah speaks to Peter Muthui about his experience of growing up in an orphanage in Kenya after the tragic loss of his parents when he was a young boy. In this hope-filled conversation, Peter and Krish talk about the too-often poor outcomes of children who grow up in orphanages and how we must have higher aspirations for them – change can happen and those who say it cannot be done should not stop those who say it can. We hope this interview encourages you to pursue the best for vulnerable children.

Dr Krish Kandiah, host and friend of the Homecoming project, is a government advisor in child welfare, an author, theologian, and activist based in the UK. Krish and his wife Miriam have six children through birth, adoption, and fostering.

Peter Kamau Muthui is the Director and Co-founder of Child in Family Focus in Kenya.

Recorded in October 2019, this podcast was brought to you by the Homecoming project – because children thrive in families.
