Las armonías pre-wagnerianas de "El caos" revelan una potencia dramática que se desarrolla durante los siete días de la Creación. Haydn usa la Biblia y El Paraíso Perdido de Milton para representar la eterna lucha entre la luz y las "pavorosas huestes infernales". "La Creación" (1798) como canto a los cielos, el sol, la luna, los montes, ríos, montañas, criaturas... Hay ingenuidad pictórica, gratitud, y también un "ecologismo" dieciochesco derivado del Iluminismo en las múltiples figuras musicales que Haydn emplea (03/05/10).
