Mission control! Spacewalks! Remember those, and holding your breath hoping it all works out. Well I have Jerry Miller, former flight director for NASA, whose specialty was “extravehicular activity”, aka spacewalks. He will tell us about one of his most exciting memories directing EVA for NASA, and the first and only time ever for a three-person EVA. But that’s not all, Jerry also tells us about coming out as gay while at NASA. As you can imagine, the culture was not particularly open to non-traditional lifestyles. This story is special as also he tells us about his motivation for taking that step. In all of these stories, there is the story within the story.
