She is the voice of the “orchestral” rock collective Renaissance which came to great prominence in the 1970s along with such progressive ensembles including Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, The Strawbs and Gentle Giant. A spirited conversationalist, Annie shares tales of her career as a fashion designer on Saville Row; studies with opera singer Sybil Knight who discovered her expansive vocal range; her work as a visual and solo recording artist, her relationships with Sandy Denny and Roy Wood of The Move / ELO / Wizzard (“the funniest four years of my life!”); how she and Eric Idle attempted to free Paul McCartney from a Japanese jail in 1980; and the new Renaissance live four-disc two CD, DVD and Blu-ray set, Ashes Are Burning – An Anthology – Live In Concert out now on Symphonic Rock Recordings.
