“Build accountability to yourself. One way that works for me is measuring. I measure where I am, and see if each day I’m getting better. I want to be accountable to myself, and map out the tomorrow: this is what I’m going to do, and I’m going to measure, and report back to myself” – “Being accountable internally makes a big difference” - “Let’s do something Epic!” – “I truly like to compete. I think I can be fairly gracious in defeat, but I want to push it hard and do the best I can” – “Looking for the path of most resistance. I think it’s good for us to do that. Do hard things and challenge yourself” – “whatever it is, if you show people that you can put in the effort and the work, and you’re not just kinda hanging on, or bugging them for answers and solutions, then generally those good people will come forward and say “I like what you’re doing, let me help you a bit” – “For what we wanted to improve, we would have a plan for that practice day, we would determine that we are going to work on something. Immediately after practice, we would review what we did: what was planned, and what actually happened? What would we do differently? What would we do the same? -> I use that approach all the time!” – “you have to be very honest with yourself, and the lessons will speak back to you. You will see improvements” – “You have to have the ability to beat up a little bit on yourself, and not feel bad about it, but look at it as an opportunity to get better” – “to find the answer to a problem, ask yourself the 5 Ys: why, why, why, why, why? Then you will get to the answer” – song, it’s a great day to be alive, by Travis Tritt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IKJa4ok83Msteve@twelvedegrees.ca
