This week, we sat down with Ron Kim, NY Assemblymember of District 40, to talk about what it is like to be a politician at the New York State Level. His journey in politics started when we barged into the office of then Council-member John Liu and demanded improvements leading Mr. Liu to offer him a summer internship. Since then, Ron has put in the blood, sweat, and tears working for various state departments and gubernatorial offices to eventually be elected to the Assembly in 2012 representing the 40th district. Growing up in Flushing, NY, Ron is passionate about fighting for families and small businesses in Flushing & Murray Hill who are faced with a rise in cost of living due to the large influx of money coming in from outside of the 40th District.

We also, talk about the 2020-2021 NY State Budget and the continual cutting to education, hospitals, and other social services. Even though there is alot of disappear, Ron is excited about the new class of Asian American civic leaders that are on the come up. He is ready to, "Pass the baton to them when the time comes". Tune in to learn more about the political system. That is our civic duty!
