These weeks are seemingly flying by already. We are excited to start this series in our podcast, Where is the Balance, where you get to listen to students that are constantly giving back, organizing and even running businesses. We know life as a college student is hectic and during a pandemic...even more!

On this episode, we are shining a light on Antoinette Watkins. You met Antoinette during our Fear vs Faith episodes, but what you didn't know is her amazing organization. Antoinette is the founder of The Diabaddie Organization, Inc. and a junior studying nutrition and dietetics with the Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work at Florida International University. Antoinette was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in 2006. She founded the Diabaddie Organization, Inc. to provide the support that young adults, need while facing the realities of living with diabetes. Their mission is to educate, expand the representation of individuals living with diabetes, promote health, connect with others, and inspire beauty through diversity. Additionally, they are committed to providing scholarships for children with T1D to attend Diabetes Camps, so that they acquire the knowledge and resources necessary to self-manage their disease.
