On episode 32 of Pretty Girls Love Real Estate, I chat with Tiyanna Long, Founder of Medisi Ventures, a social impact firm that provides consulting, advocacy, and development services for clients in the cannabis industry. Tiyanna is also an Oakland, California native and participates in many non profit organizations and initiatives to provide financial literacy and programs to help residents retain equity in their own communities. During our conversation we discussed:

- the social and economic impact of gentrification in Oakland

- the bureaucracy and barriers to entry that people of color face when trying to enter the legal cannabis industry

- her experience trying to break into the commercial side of real estate and gain effective mentorship

- her interest in construction and the need for more women to enter that segment of the real estate industry

Book Suggestions:

The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein

Ninja Selling by Larry Kendall
