About Gregory Furer:

Gregory is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Beratung Advisors. After ten years in the financial services industry with PNC Investments, Park Avenue Securities, and Guardian Life, his passion for financial planning and financial education compelled him to start Beratung Advisors. He believes that every person should have a comprehensive business plan to help pursue their life goals. Gregory has long held the belief that the educated client is his best client, and he strives to educate every client about the strengths and challenges of their financial plan. For that reason, he chose the name Beratung [ba-rah-tung], German for Advice, Guidance, and Consultation.

Gregory was born and raised in Buffalo Township, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Freeport Area High School and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Gregory has an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Duquesne University. Among his many industry accomplishments, he holds a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification from CFP Board and the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor from College for Financial Planning.

Gregory is passionate about leadership and serving others. He has served in many leadership roles over the years, including seven years as a Township Supervisor in Buffalo Township in Butler County, Church Council at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freeport, and President of East Suburban Networkers. At the time of his election as Township Supervisor, he was the youngest elected official in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Gregory resides in the historic Deutschtown Neighborhood of the Northside of Pittsburgh with his wife Amanda, daughter Abigail, and their dog Remington. They attend Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glenshaw. In his free time, Gregory enjoys volunteering, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, reading success books, shooting sporting clays and skeet, boating, dining out, and attending Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Panthers games.
