Kate Raworth discussed the idea that global developments should have both a social foundation (maintaining basic human rights) and an ecological ceiling (involving the drastic environmental change caused by industry), using a “donut-shaped diagram” to present these ideas.

Mariana Mazzucato highlighted the fact that in order to succeed in any sort of revolution, it is vital to understand the dynamics of investment and ensure that as an economy we become more mission orienteering and interdependent with other sectors.

Bill Janeway raised the question “do we also require US participation?”, and lastly, Jeffrey Sachs discussed the idea that it is crucial to realise and take our global commitments seriously in order to gain benefits.

In this episode, the panel raises questions over the mismatch between the power of states and the power of corporations, and how we get politics to support and adapt to changes.
