Firearm sales skyrocketed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020 Minnesota seen more first time applications for permits to purchase and permits to carry firearms than any other year in it’s history. For African American, non-gun owners living in the twin cities, it was the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd that made them question their beliefs on gun ownership.
