Dr Lightson Ngashangva, Research Scientist at IIT Guwahati is among the 10 promising candidates winning BIRAC biotech innovation grant of 25 lakhs from IIT Guwahati, North East India. The Biotechnology Industry Assistance Council (BIRAC) an enterprise of Government of India launched a special call for proposal under Biotechnology Ignition Grant exclusively for North East Region of India (BIG-NER) to nurture innovative biotech startup ideas for implementation in NER for eligible entrepreneurs, startups, scientists, clinicians and doctors, faculty members, students, research scholars and any innovator. Dr Lightson Ngashangva has a Doctoral degree from Advanced Institute Sciences & Technology (JAIST), Japan. His specialization is on Development of Biodevice or micro-biodevice, specifically biosensor (miniaturized diagnostic device) under Materials Science department. He has Bachelor degree in Chemistry from St. Stephen College Delhi (2009), M. Tech (Chemical Synthesis and Process Technology) from Delhi University, and Master of Sciences from JAIST simultaneously.
