CENTRE FOR MULTIPARTY DEMOCRACY: Implement Article 100 of the KENYAN CONSTITUTION (Part 1) | Diana Sifuna
Manage episode 316034046 series 3256499
PART ONE: The objective of the Webinar was to assess the status of the implementation of Article 100 in the Kenyan Constitution. In order to have a full and robust democracy, a country’s political system must be effectively represented by leaders drawn from all genders and regions. Despite women and youths forming the bulk of the country’s populations, their representation in various political processes remains inadequate. The representation of the ethnic and other minorities and the marginalized communities have neither been spared as most a time their representation is yet to be felt in various political processes. None representation of these groups has greatly disadvantaged them as it has in turn worked against them in that, it has deprived them a platform where they can air issues that affect them and lobby for enactment of legislations that work in their favour.
