Suzy Reading is so many things, all wrapped up into one incredibly powerful whole; a mother of two, an author, a chartered psychologist, a yoga teacher, a leading practitioner and advocate of self care, and so much more. In this conversation, we explore how her passion for self care was sparked when her experience of motherhood collided with the terminal illness of her father, and how she has subsequently channelled that in order to help other people manage their stress, their emotions, and to re-charge their ‘energetic bank balance.’

In this wonderfully open and insightful conversation, we discuss topics such as;

- How she accidently moved to the UK, when a two month holiday turned into a seven year stay!

- Starting a personal training business whilst at University - When she moved back to Australia to start a family, she was faced with the terminal illness of her father, an especially tough chapter, though one that was to set her on the path back to her psychologist roots.

- how even she remains susceptible to life’s stresses, despite all of her accumulated tools, experience and skills, because no one is immune from stress, overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, or grief. - How she embraced extending compassion towards herself - How the pandemic has encouraged people to talk more around self care. - That though grief is a universal experience, we still don’t talk about it enough. She goes on to share some wonderful insight as to how to try to support those who might be grieving. - We also talk healthy foundational habits, including sleep, rest, relaxation, breathing, food, hydration, and movement, and how these elements combine to make Suzy’s ‘scaffolding.’
