On Saturday 24th September 2016, BlindAid’s 2016 Annual Celebration was held at Methodist Central hall Westminster. The event was hosted by a great friend of the charity, Jeni Barnett, Star of both TV and Radio. The day’s celebration was enjoyed by people from all 12 inner London boroughs where BlindAid operates- including: their service users, the Mayors of each Borough or their representatives, the Charity’s many friends and supporters and BlindAid Trustees, Staff and Volunteers. It was an afternoon of wonderful and uplifting musical contributions, and BlindAid staff and service users shared their experiences. Salt FM UK brings you Jeni Barnett in conversation with Constance Onwuka, a BlindAid service user; Clarissa Ferguson, BlindAid Community Project Coordinator and our own Kazeem Busari (DJ Jhyde) who started with BlindAid as a service user but now volunteers as a BlindAid IT tutor. BlindAid provides a range of services to over 3,000 blind and partially sighted people resident in the city of London and the 12 inner London Boroughs. The charity depends upon legacies and donations from the public to fund its activities. For more information on BlindAid, please visit their website at: http://www.blindaid.org.uk/.
