She is the CEO of The Empowered Financial Planner and has over 15 years of experience in financial services. - In business, having financial experts tell you about the markets and your own finances, is not the way to go. You need to understand them for yourself. Eunicia advises having those experts sit with you and help you understand your finances, so you can make better decisions.
- Automate your investments, but don't forget about them. What you focus on, especially when it comes to money, is what's going to end up growing in the future.
- A 401k plan must be designed to make sense for the client. Eunicia encourages clients to understand that they have other options. "Money in a situation where it's not truly optimized is not going to be the same as money put in a situation where it can truly grow to the benefit of the client," she says.
- You can’t control the financial industry. However, you do have control over the ability to ask questions and that is something, Eunicia says, that individuals often don't do.
- A lot of failed financial planning is due to a lack of education, and a lack of desire to gain that education.
