GFWBCC is the only chamber with a non-profit, One Hopeful
Place (OHP) in Okaloosa County that serves unaccompanied
individuals and veterans experiencing homelessness. OHP
operates a 50-bed shelter for men and a 10-bed shelter for
women who have the desire to make changes in their current
circumstances. Their mission is to be the front door into
permanent housing and end the cycle of homelessness for
those experiencing housing loss in Okaloosa County. They
have helped about 200 people to be able to get off the streets
since 2018 and 65% of those 200 have been able to find
permanent housing as of 2021.
