Manage episode 324519442 series 3267656
Finding ways to cope with loss and, most especially, the impending death of a loved one is a challenge that everyone must learn to combat in their life. These last few years we have all had to find new and creative ways to grieve and prepare for that change. Shannon MacFarlane photographs individuals, families, and pets in these intimate, vulnerable moments. Finding the glimpses of joy and moments of laughter is her specialty. In this emotional conversation she talks about how she found this path, why she does it, and what that brings to the families she engages with. It will make you think. If you're wondering more the woman behind the camera, here's how she describes herself:
Shannon works as a compassionate human and grief photographer in the Pacific Northwest (USA). She is not at all interested in small talk and extremely interested in meeting all animals who want to make new friends. Shannon started her first photography business in 2009 and began concentrating on telling stories rooted in grief and love in 2013.
