Soweto in a nutshell. hen fate ties you into a knot – What do you do? Soweto in a nutshell is a preview of Life in Soweto South Africa and a mindset of a new breed of creatures who seek something great and good for nothing, perhaps even free without paying a price for it. Yet! It is not about the entire history of Soweto, as it would not do justice to depict the true history of Soweto.

Rather, this observation and the understudy of my people is a short representation of glimpses of its authentic strives and thrives, i.e. my heart-felt rhythms of its biological clock and the mixture of modern day blues. It is about the plight and courage of a people that stood to fight for an ideal purpose in life. This was in the early days of political struggle in South Africa. The 60’s until the 80’s was a bleak period in the history of African people in South Africa under Apartheid.

Our people were able to learn to stand together united by a common goal to overcome adversity, and the hatred instigated by white people – just because we were dark skinned. We had challenges, but rose above and beyond limitations defined by destiny of a political agenda through a sick system of government injustice called “Discrimination In The Name Of Apartheid” and a class and caste division called “Separate Development” of African people according to their culture and traditions, and residential allocations in various townships and cities.

Only to end up in 2018 with fragmented individuals who are fighting to amass and secure wealth and riches at the expense of stealing and laziness to thrive on poor leadership chaos the country is facing today.

My effort since 1994 is to try and crystallize the important parables of its unique blend of human strength and integrity of character in a way; paint the inner and outer kaleidoscope of my observations to unravel but the basic unending, yet intertwined mystery of its unfolding yet unlimited but, complicated tapestry; I would like to call living under the “Fallacy Of A Faked Democracy” of 1994 elections.
