Hello again fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,
Johnny loves a good conservative talk radio show. His favorite morning radio show called "The Phil Cowan Radio Program" that used to run on KTKZ 1380 AM The Answer in Sacramento California ended on Friday April 1st 2022. Phil Cowan is no longer the host because he rode into the sunset of his retirement.
In this episode, Johnny tries to explain what the Phil Cowan show meant to him with regard to listener participation and engaging with the audience during the show.
Ed Crane is now the new host of "The Ed Crane Show" on this radio station during the slot of 6am to 9am. Mr. Crane comes from a long line of radio news reporting that includes a morning news program that included a cohost on a competitor station in Sacramento called KFBK NewsRadio 1530 AM. Before moving to Sacramento Mr. Crane worked for CBS News in New York City back in the 70's and 80's.
Mr. Crane is presenting his show in a peculiar way, where regular callers that used to engage with the former host are not calling in regularly, or as much as they used to. Johnny is coming to grips with what this new show is and how it is being presented and it is very difficult for him. Johnny is having a hard time appreciating this show in its current form. It has become increasingly difficult to appreciate The Ed Crane Show the way he appreciated The Phil Cowan Radio Program.
Thanks for listening.
