This year, in lieu of a traditional admission gift, Puget Sound's Office of Admission is making a donation on behalf of each of our admitted students to one of five local community organizations: Nourish Pierce County, Tacoma Community House, Rebuilding Hope! Sexual Assault Center for Pierce County, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, and Citizens for a Healthy Bay. In this five-part miniseries, Remake the World, PS: The Puget Sound Podcast has partnered with the Office of Admission to introduce you to these community partners and their important work.

Today's episode is focused on Rebuilding Hope! Sexual Assault Center for Pierce County, an organization that offers support toward healing through advocacy and therapy for those affected by sexual assault and abuse. Elena is joined in this episode by Hannah Nichols, Advocacy Coordinator, and Sarah Ciambrone, Sex Trafficking and Exploitation Program (STEP) Coordinator.

CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains themes of sex, sexual assault, sexual abuse, commercial sexual exploitation, and human trafficking. If you or someone you care about is a victim-survivor of sexual assault or abuse you can call Rebuilding Hope’s 24/7 hotline at 1-800-756-7273 for resources and support.

We hope you'll keep learning about Rebuilding Hope's important work. Remember, admitted students can choose a nonprofit organization for Puget Sound to support on their behalf at pugetsound.edu/remake. Please subscribe to the Puget Sound Podcast to ensure that you keep up with all five of our features as we release them throughout the spring.
